Overview

Bono Coffee Shop, nestled on Jl. Kresna in Bona, Gianyar, Bali, is a welcoming spot for those seeking a calm retreat paired with quality coffee and simple yet satisfying fare. Positioned away from the noise yet easily accessible, this café blends a relaxed atmosphere with picturesque views that make it a favored stop for both locals and visitors alike.

At its core, Bono Coffee Shop shines with its coffee offerings. The manual brew options are particularly praised for their rich aroma and balanced flavors, appealing to true coffee enthusiasts looking for an authentic experience beyond the typical espresso shot. Signature drinks like the Matcha Latte and Caramel Macchiato add variety, catering well to those who enjoy a subtle twist in their cup. Complementing these beverages, the Caffe Latte hits the mark for anyone wanting a classic, smooth coffee treat.

The menu effortlessly bridges local flavors with casual dining staples. Standouts include the Nasi Goreng Bono—a comforting Indonesian fried rice dish—and Chicken Katsu, which evokes a satisfying crunch and hearty taste. For a lighter yet intriguing choice, the Udang Rambutan offers a unique blend of shrimp and lychee that enhances the café's local charm.

The physical space balances indoor and outdoor seating, thoughtfully designed for individuals, groups, and even remote workers requiring power outlets. Its garden setting allows customers to soak in Bali’s natural beauty, although visitors should be mindful of small insects attracted to the evening lighting. While air conditioning is absent, the open layout fosters airflow, maintaining a cozy ambiance without feeling stifling.

Customer experience at Bono is largely positive, marked by friendly and helpful staff who contribute to the café’s inviting spirit. Ordering is streamlined at the bar, with food brought to your table, although occasional delays and minor oversights, such as missing paper serviettes or hand towels, reveal room for operational improvements. The mix of Indonesian and English communication caters well to international guests, though language barriers may arise on occasion.

Geared toward casual coffee lovers, remote workers, and travelers seeking a serene Balinese hideaway, Bono Coffee Shop merges accessibility, quality drinks, and simple food within a scenic backdrop. Its pricing remains budget-friendly, adding to its appeal without compromising flavor or comfort.

In summary, Bono Coffee Shop offers a genuine, grounded café experience in Gianyar. Its focus on peaceful enjoyment, local culinary influences, and thoughtful drinks makes it worth a visit—especially for those who appreciate a balance of good coffee, views, and approachable hospitality.

Its a nice chill out cafe with good views. Service is friendly but there's definetely space for improvement ...for example they didn t bring us any paper serviettes at both occassions we were there even though we each time ordered hamburger. You have to always order at the bar then they bring food to you.. Food is very simple but nice. From drinks I really liked their lychee ice tea but I advise you not to order the coolers cause they taste really artificial:)

The food are good. But when comes the evening, many small insects circled the lamps in the garden. So it's a bit disturbing when you eat, it's better to go inside.

The cafe is located near the road, but it's not noisy and the atmosphere is very calm. Parking is quite convenient too. Inside and outside the cafe there are many places to seat. There are tables for groups. There are sockets that allow you to work. However, it is stuffy because there is no air conditioning. But the main point is gorgeous view! The staff is friendly, but not everyone speaks English. And they forgot about my order and prepared it for a long time (but it was just a starter). I went up to remind them and a minute later they brought my food. Prices do not include taxes, but are cheap. For such prices the food tastes good. The only thing missing is paper towels for hands in the toilet.
